UK Picture Editors’ Guild Press Photography Awards 2011
Successful competitors in the 2011 Picture Editors’ Guild Awards were revealed at a gala dinner in London last night (20th September) with Matt Dunham of the Associated Press being named SABMiller Photographer of the Year. His triumph came after he also secured the title of British Airways Royal Photographer of the Year and commendations in two other categories. His portfolio included a picture (above) published across the world showing a shocked Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and Prince Charles as their car was attacked by a rioting mob. full report at PhotoArchiveNews.com
World Press Photo Multimedia Contest Shortlist
World Press Photo published the finalists of the first World Press Photo Multimedia Contest, with the aim of showcasing the best multimedia storytelling in visual journalism. The international jury has selected a total of six productions for the shortlist, and the winners will be announced during the Awards Ceremony on 7 May 2011.
Aurora Photographers Win At American Photo Mag
Aurora Photos photographer Jen Judge won first place in the Photojournalism category of the Images of the Year awards given by American Photo Magazine for her portraits of survivors of the earthquake in Haiti.
Awards: AMEC 6th Annual Counsel of the Year Awards - Winners
The Association of Media and Entertainment Counsel (AMEC), the ‘leading trade association serving general counsel and business affairs attorneys’, have announced the winners of the prestigious 6th Annual Counsel of the Year Awards. Founded in 2005, the Media and Entertainment Counsel of the Year Awards are the only awards designed to honor attorneys who are part of the leadership at the major global media and entertainment companies.
