Responsible for the development of the brand look and feel. Supervise cover process including concept development, casting; review with Publisher, Editor and EVP Creative Director. Direct, photoshoots, graphics, layouts and art production. As such work directly with the VP Editor; SVP Publisher and various departments in communicating editorial content. In partnership with VP Editor, work to ensure successful implementation of redesign and full development of brand look and feel. Works with VP, Editor, Managing Editor, Photo Editor, copy and production departments, to achieve monthly photography, production and copy deadlines. Supervise photo editor and junior art designer(s) reporting to this position. Responsible for hiring, training and mentoring new employees to the above positions. Find and hire freelance stylists as necessary. Undertake other art direction assignments at the request of the SVP Publisher, and Editor. Oversees and monitors project budgets against guidelines provided by the CFO and SVP Publisher, as related to activities under the Art Directors’ supervision. Reviewing color separations proof with Managing Editor, Art Production and Print Quality Directors.. Review and consult on direct mail, marketing collateral to ensure that brand look and feel are maintained.
Qualifications :
Seven plus years of design manager experience.
