Close To My Heart, a leader in the scrapbook and stamp industry is seeking qualified candidates for a Product Designer/Illustrator II at its corporate headquarters in Pleasant Grove, Utah. This is a full-time, in-house position.
Summary:
This designer will act as a key team member of the Creative Services department and will be assigned to develop and design CTMH art product and will require excellent design and/or illustration skills, both in computer-based and traditional mediums. A wide range of design/illustration styles is highly favored and the candidate must be able to deliver across diverse medias from print to online. The role demands competence in a variety of software design applications and strict adherence to timelines and strategy guidelines (creative briefs) written by marcom.
Duties & Responsibilities:
¨ Work independently and as a member of a team to concept, design, illustrate, and produce art product, including scrapbook kit papers, stickers, color palettes, textures, embellishments, acrylic stamp illustrations and line drawings etc.
¨ Will recommend color, type, and directional strategy treatments as appropriate to product development management and execute products from inception through production, to include press checks.
¨ Work within assigned budget and production schedule as written by product development management and approved by Product Design Manager or Art Director.
¨ Attend Creative Services team meetings and other project meetings, as requested.
¨ Follow the lead of Product Design Manager and seek their input and direction on pivotal projects.
¨ Act as head designer on product development and other projects as assigned by Product Design Manager or Art Director.
Qualifications/requirements:
¨ 5-8 years minimum of creative development work in an in-house agency, advertising agency, or similar environment required.
¨ Emphasis on design and illustration (not merely production), is essential.
¨ Must have exceptional independent project management skills and the ability to act as the lead designer/ illustrator on a number of concurrent assignments.
¨ Candidates should have a strong portfolio with a demonstrated competence in design, conceptualization, composition, typography, color, etc. Additionally, illustration skills are highly favorable.
¨ Mac computer skills with Abode Suite software: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
