San Francisco, CA — May 3, 2011 — Stipple, a San Francisco-based technology company, today
introduced Stipple Lens, a web-based service that licenses and monetizes editorial photos by connecting
images to accurate search and social shopping information.

Stipple Lens enables photo agencies to monetize their web images without disrupting current workflows
or existing publisher license agreements. Lens is the first image monetization system designed
specifically for professional photographers and photo agencies. Lens is a web-based application that
enables the content contained in photos to be accurately tagged. Lens distributes the information to all
copies of an image throughout the web. Lens also finds lost images and reconnects those images with
their owner, ensuring that the agency receives proper credit and revenue from those images. With Lens, it
is now possible to track and monetize web-based photos throughout their life on the web.

“Stipple is committed to creating a profitable ecosystem for photographers, publishers and brands while
actually improving user experience. For too long, making money on the web has meant cramming ads on
pages and spamming users. We’ve built a better mouse trap,” said Rey Flemings, co-founder and CEO,
Stipple. “Lens offers a new revenue model for editorial images in addition to traditional licensing revenue.
Stipple is committed to supporting the creative professionals that produce world-class image content.”

Thousands of editorial images are published each day and many contain interesting people, places
and products. Using Lens, photographers and photo agencies ultimately enable consumers to access
additional information on the items pictured in their photos. For the first time, photo agencies also have
access to detailed analytics, in real-time, on their most viewed, engaging and profitable images.

Once one product is labeled in one photo, no more work is needed. Stipple automatically labels other
related images throughout the web. This is especially beneficial for photos from high-interest events or
those containing high-interest subjects.

“We’ve built the web’s only search and social shopping network for online images, viewed by more than
nine million unique visitors per month, and we’re just getting started,” said Paul Melcher, photo industry
technology expert and Stipple VP of business development. “Stipple envisions a world where consumers
have an active experience with all online images.”

Stipple Lens licenses more than 100,000 new editorial images per month from top photo agencies,
including Abaca USA, Admedia, Buzz Foto, PictureGroup, Sipa, Starmax, Startraks and Zuma, among
others, and makes the images available to brands.

Stipple Lens is part of the Stipple product ecosystem announced today that also includes Pipeline,
Network and Want. Pipeline empowers brands to commerce-enable the images contained in Lens. More
than 50 leading brands are using Pipeline today. Network syndicates search and shopping information
to nationally distributed editorial images and gives publishers the ability to label the people, places, and
things contained in their custom images. More than 1,300 publishers are a part of Network today. Want
enables audiences to search, shop and ‘want-list’ the products contained in editorial images throughout
the web.
